Argyle JV vs. Joshua

09/18/07

By CD

The Argyle JV remains undefeated.  Argyle 24 Joshua 0.  Coach Pevehouse and Coach Jones led the team to a shutout victory in Joshua.  The JV looked dominant against the Owls.  Our offense scored first and never looked back.  We racked up 339 yards.  In the air, we put up 167 yards and on the ground, another 172.  Chad Hedlund's passes were caught by Murphy Ellis, Lance Sutton and Justin Bruton.  The longest being a 29 yard completion to Sutton that was spotted one yard short of the end zone.  Michael Willeford, Scotty Seiber and Murphy Ellis moved the ball on the ground for the Eagles.  Hedlund, Sutton and Ellis all scored touchdowns.  Willeford was the go to guy, for all three two point conversions.

The Eagle defense only allowed 87 yards of Owl offense.  Four Joshua offensive drives were 3 and out, or less.  There were some penalties that kept a couple of their drives going, but the Eagles held strong, only gave up three first downs and never let them across the goal line.  Safety Jake Meeks lead all tacklers with 6 solo tackles, followed by Ethan Clark, Taylor Dierke and Sam Forrer each with 4.  Dran Crenshaw, Jake Sizelove and Scotty Stewart each had three tackles, while Jake Barthel, Joe Durham, Phillip Minten and Mark Vickers all had two each.  Keith Boyles, Alejandro Castro, Blake Dunham, Blake Rowe and Eric Terrazas each had one tackle.  Scotty Stewart added some excitement to the game with two interceptions, one with a thirty yard return.  Jake Meeks and Blake Dunham each broke up pass plays with knocked down passes, Dunham also had a batted ball at the line, during a pass rush.

Everyone needs to see this group of young men play; they are the future of Argyle Football.
