The 2007-2008 Varsity and Junior Varsity played its first ever fall golf tournaments this year. The teams showed great promise for this year following a trip to Odessa last year for the regional tournament from the Varsity.
The Varsity showed great strength against Class 5A and other Class 3A schools in the Indian Creek Fall Classic held in Carrolton, Texas. Argyle's Varsity placed 1st out of 8 schools with a 314. The tournament included Carrolton Newman Smith, Carrolton Ranchview, Royse City, Argyle Varsity, Argyle black(JV), R.L. Turner and district foe Bridgeport. The Junior Varsity showed great composure in the tournament, and placed fourth with a 362.
Individually Will Overlander and Ferrin Bavousett each shot a 77, resulting in a three way tie with Jacob Caldwell of Bridgeport. Bavousett won in a scorecard playoff which is determined by the best score on the most difficult hole.
Bavousett won the scorecard playoff against Jacob Caldwell for third place and Will Overlander ended up fifth overall.
Kyle Boliver shot a 78 which got him sixth place overall. Taylor Flechtner edged out fellow teammate Kyle Atwater by one stroke as he shot a 82 while Atwater stroked an 83.
