A great win for the Lady Eagles to create a tie with Pilot Point for third place in district 8-3A occured Friday night in Pilot Point.  The Lady Eagles trailed early in the game 4-0 until the fifth inning.  Argyle scored one run in the fifth and three in the sixth before Kayla Massey's heroics in the seventh inning.

The Lady Eagles mounted an offensive attack in the last three innings of the game.  Their never say never attitude was evident as they started their comeback in the last inning by loading the bases.  All year the Eagles have suffered close losses in the last inning.  But Kayla Massey has stepped up as a senior in the last two games.  With the bases loaded in the seventh inning Kayla stepped to the plate with two outs and the Eagles down one run.  On the first pitch Kayla continued her career year at the plate by hitting the ball over the left field fence for her first career home run/grand slam.  The Lady Eagles held Pilot Point scoreless in the bottom of the inning preserving the victory.  The victory improved the Lady Eagles record to 5-3 in district and 13-11 overall for the season.

Emily Rodgers and the Lady Eagles defense shut down the Pilot Point offense after the third inning.  Emily gave up 7 hits, four runs, three earned runs, walked only one batter and struck out seven batters in seven grueling innings of work.  Argyle had twelve hits in the game with Laura Carr, Taylor Petrick Chandler Hamilton and Kayla Massey each collecting two hits.  Katie McKinney had a double and Laura Carr had a triple in the game.  Emma Forrer scored a run pinch running for Erin Leamon who had singled.  Kristen Armstrong and Jennifer Speer had one hit each in the game.  Brittany O'Brien scored a run and played a solid defensive game at first base.  The defense played well only making two errors.  The girls made the plays when it mattered and are looking forward to next week as they play Sanger and Gainesville.

Come out and support the Lady Eagles with their "Never say Never" attitude as they continue their march towards the playoffs.
