Recognition/Honors

Football

The class 3A all-state football team it includes three Eagles who had outstanding seasons.    

Quarterback JJ Harp was selected on the second team in recognition of his record-breaking season where he threw for more than 3500 yards and 35 touchdowns.  

Junior receiver Brady Brown was also selected as a 2nd team all-state receiver as he caught nearly 100 balls for more than 20 touchdowns.

Senior receiver Matt Handler earned honorable mention honors for his outstanding season and ability to make the clutch catches that helped the Eagles in their playoff run.

The class 3A academic all-state football team includes six  Eagles. Congratulations to the following young men for their outstanding accomplishment in the classroom this year:

Elite team - Robbie Ehlers

Second team Gavin Pucciarello and Ross Slough

Honorable Mention - Trevor Cantrell, Justin McGuffey, and Ben Parks

Excellence starts in the classroom and extends to the playing field and these Eagles certainly demonstrated that!

Cross Country

Blake Woolums wins first at State.

The Argyle Boys Cross Country team has returned from the state cross country meet in Round Rock on Saturday as state champions. Blake Woolums paced the Eagles with the state's best time in 3A. Stephen Curry and Thomas Dagg finished in the top ten. Other team members include Alex Alderson, Jake Roberts, Connor Hughey, and Austin Lyles.

Lady Eagles Girls Cross Country has two top five finishers in state

Kristie Krueger and Colbea Harris competed in the state cross country meet on Saturday with Krueger taking second and Harris fifth.

Volleyball

Jessica Bonfield, junior, setter, was named to the TGCA All State Volleyball team. 

Only the second student/athlete in school history to recieve that honor.

The following Argyle Lady Eagles were selected  to the District 8-3A All District Team by the District's Coaches.

Dickerson named to All-State team

Caden Dickerson, a junior point guard for the Argyle Eagles has been named as a member of the 3A All-State basketball team for the 07-08 season.

Dickerson, a two year starter was also named as an All-Region player as well as the District 8-3A Most Valuable Player.

Other accolades for Caden this season include being named the MVP at the Bagg Insurance Tournament and all-tournament at the Whataburger Tournament and the Collin County Roundball Classic.

The Eagles have had made two consecutive trips to the Regional tournment and have been undefeated in district for the past two years.

Congratulations to Caden on a great season.

Forrer named All-Region

Emma Forrer, a junior for the Lady Eagles basketball team has been named to the All-Region team for 07-08. She was also named first team all-district for 8-3A.

This is Emma's second year to be named to the All-Region team.

Emma has been on the varsity for three years and was a member of the Lady Eagles State Champions team in 05-06.

Drake named to All-Region team

Josh Drake has been named to the All-Region team for 07-08. Josh was also voted the Offensive Most Valuable Player for District 8-3A.

Drake, a Senior is a 3 year letterman for the Eagles.

Bonfield selected to All-Region team

Jessica Bonfield, a junior on the Lady Eagles basketball team was selected to the 07-08 All Region team.

Jessica was selected as the Defensive MVP for District 8-3A and was selected as the team's MVP for this year.
