Blair Obrien hits a single from the lead off in the 1^st and is out at 2^nd base trying to steal. In the 2^nd inning Erin Leamon takes a walk, advances to 3^rd with a hit by Lizzy Roden and a walk by Caden Long. Leamon scores on a passed ball by Ponder. Obrien starts off the 3^rd  with her 2^nd hit of the game and is advanced to 2^nd with a sac bunt by Lauren Zanotto. Leamon hits a smash to right scoring Obrien for the winning run. Emily Rodgers pitches a one hitter with two walks, seven strikeouts, one unearned run along with solid infield defense played by Jesse Jones (SS), Leamon(3^rd), Zanotto(2^nd), Emma Havrilka(1^st) and Obrien(C) behind the plate. Argyle wins 2 -1. 

Kennedale @ Argyle  2/19/2010 

Argyle Lady Eagles bats went cold with only one hit and one runner left on base in a game were the Lady Eagles kept the game close defensively until the top of the fifth inning. Kennadale got 8 hits including a one run homerun in the fourth, a triple along with six singles in the fifth inning to defeat the Lady Eagles 6 – 0. 

Windthorst @ Argyle  2/19/2010 

The Lady Eagles played a hard fought defensive game against Windthorst. Emily Rodgers pitched a good game with 9 strikeouts and a one hitter. Leamon and Rodgers both had one hit but the Lady Eagles could not push across a run. The game ended after 7 innings in a 0 – 0 tie and the Lady Eagles lose on a tiebreaker. 

Denton @ Argyle  2/19/2010 

The Lady Eagles played an exciting game with Ashley Cole starting her first game on the mound. After spotting Denton 4 runs on 4 hits in the first inning, the Lady Eagles responded with a good eye at the plate in the first inning. Blair Obrien walked twice, Marissa Capra, Jessica Wittmis, KK Short drew walks. Along with hits from Lizzy Roden, Emma Havrilka, Ashley Cole, and Kara Kelsey the Lady Eagles put up a 6 spot in the first inning. With the Lady Eagles up 6 -4 in the second inning Emily Rodgers relieved Cole on the mound. The Broncos bats got hot and delivered 7 hits total along with 7 runs to defeat the Lady Eagles 11 – 6 for their 3^rd straight loss. 

Ferris @ Argyle  2/20/2010 

With Coach Coonrod calling a new day and reinforcing the basics the Lady Eagles responded. In the 1^st with two outs, Emma Havrilka draws a walk and steals 2^nd base . Erin Leamon delivers with a double to right center scoring Havrilka. In the 2^nd inning with one out, Lizzy Roden walks, Kristen Pulliam delivers a single to right field moving Roden to 2^nd base. Blair Obrien hits a RBI single scoring Roden. Kristen Pulliam then scores the game winning run from 3^rd base on a passed ball. Emily Rodgers added a sac bunt, Maci Moore a single, along with good pitching from Rodgers who pitched a two hitter, along with 5 strikeouts, one walk. Another very good defensive game from the infield with Havrilka(1^st), Zanotto(2^nd), Wittmis(SS), Leamon(3^rd), and Obrien(C) with very solid performance behind the plate. Argyle wins 3 – 1. 

Ferris @ Argyle for 3^rd Place Tournament Finish 2/20/2010 

After battling Ferris in a close game, the second meeting was just as exciting. After two scoreless innings the Lady Eagles started off the 3^rd with a single by Blair Obrien, Lauren Zanotto draws a walk, a miscue by the Ferris pitcher on a throwing error on a Havrilka at bat scores Obrien. Leamon hits an RBI single to left scoring Zanotto. Rodgers hit into a fielder’s choice moving Leamon to 3^rd. Maci Moore comes through with a RBI single to left field scoring Leamon and putting the Lady Eagles up 3 – 0. The Lady Eagles held that lead until the top of the fifth inning. One hit and a walk, along with three Lady Eagle fielding errors put Ferris back in front scoring 4 runs. Down 4 -3 in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Lady Eagles again were called to respond at the plate by Coach Coonrod.

Lizzy Roden got things started in the inning with a double to deep left field, Coach Coonrod gives the bunt sign and Kristen Pulliam delivers Roden to third base.  Roden gets picked off third base for the 2^nd out and the Lady Eagles are down to their last out with the bases empty. Obrien gets on base with a throwing error, Zanotto hits a single to left field, moving Obrien to 2^nd base. To the plate steps Emma Havrilka who hits a 1 -1 pitch over the heads of a drawn in outfield scoring a speedy pair of base runners in Zanotto and Obrien securing a third place tournament finish for the  Argyle Lady Eagles with a 5 – 4 win. Emily Rodgers pitched another good game with 6 strikeouts, 2 walks, and one earned run.

 1^st Inning: Blair Obrien leads off with a walk and is out at 2^nd on fielder’s choice by Kristen Pulliam. Emma Havrilka hits a 2-2 pitch over the left field fence on her first Varsity at bat and gives the Lady Eagles a lead that they will not surrender.

Obrien, Pulliam, Leamon all got hits along with Havrilka’s homerun, Emily Rodgers allowing two hits with 4 K’s, one unearned run, and exceptional infield defense by Wittmis (SS), Havrilka(1^st), Cole(2^nd), Obrien (C), and Leamon(3^rd), the Lady Eagles start the 2010 season with a 3 -1 win on a cold, windy night.
