Argyle Girls 7th A Opens the Season strong with Win over Pilot Point

Img_4923_medium
The 7th grade A team played its first game of the season at home VS Pilot Point.  The girls were nervous and anxious to get started.  We have practiced hard and wanted to see how we would do aginst another team.  From the start we put presure  on the other team and pushed the ball with the fast break.  We played hard on defense and tried to keep moving on offense.  The final score was Argyle 43 and Pilot Point 13.  We will get back to work so we can keep improving each week as we look forward to playing in Sanger next Monday with games starting at 5:00.

My player of the game was PG Blair O'Brien, who led the team with 16 pts on the night.

Argyle 7th grade girls win district!
We came into the tournament as the 3rd seed having lost 2 games in district.  We played Bridgeport on Thursday.  All the girls had a great game and played well as we won big.  On Saturday we had a rematch with a team that beat us.  We played Gainesville who runs a 2-3 zone so we were not expecting to score allot and new we had to have a good game on defense.  We had a good game plan and won the game by double digits.  In the Championship game we played Sanger.  They have played us close all year and we knew it would be hard to beat them 3 times in one year.  The girls pulled together as a team and played hard.  They left it all on the floor and when the final buzzer sounded Argyle was on top.  The final score was 32 to 24.  We did a good job of mixing it up on defense.  I was proud of the girls for finishing out the season with a great win.  These are some awesome kids that have some great basketball ahead of them.
